During first semester of freshman year (and even now), I frequently thought
to myself, “Oh, wouldn’t it be nice if someone had told me this beforehand?
Like, how to make the campus bus stop, or the fact that I’ll be walking a ton every
day?” And before I was a freshman, I was a high school senior wondering if the University of Maryland at College Park was the right school for me. “How is campus life like? Are the dorm bathrooms
gross at UMD?” I wondered. Other than what I heard from a few friends who were students
here, I really didn’t know how life at UMD would be like. That's why I created UMDExplained, so prospective and incoming freshmen can have a better idea of what to expect.
This blog is NOT an official publication of the University
of Maryland. I am a student attending the University of Maryland at College Park, but the University of Maryland does not pay
or compensate me in any way to write about them. That being said, I aim to be
very honest with my reviews and opinions. I don’t sugarcoat things. However, I
try to present all factual information in an objective and informative way.
